In 2002, founder Dan Welty discovered a burgeoning need for outsourced, professional computer and network management by small businesses in the greater Dallas – Ft. Worth market. It was painfully evident that most small companies desired to take advantage of advancing computer technologies…but didn’t have the resources to staff a permanent Information Technology (IT) department.
Following 9/11, many executives were departing corporate America to start their own small businesses. Technology became a huge challenge for these new entrepreneurs, as they were accustomed to having in-house IT departments.
Small business usually can’t afford to hire full-time IT people. Yet to be competitive, a critical need exists for small business to utilize a full-range of IT services. Small companies and start-ups were looking for a high level of service and consulting, just as they had experienced in their corporate settings.
Dan originally named the new company “CTO on Call” and the business grew rapidly. This name served its purpose well, but in early 2008, it was time to enhance the name to reflect the expanded services the company delivers. CTO Networks was born.
